Why is hair curly?
Because its internal links are tilted and wavy and to make the hair soft there are two ways, a quick and permanent method by breaking these links with chemicals or temporarily by wrapping the hair externally and make it straight with lighter chemicals to give a temporary softness lasts 3-4 months or 30 wash
The hair straightening process has been marketed under medical names, such as protein, collagen, Botox, and keratin, these names made everyone accept chemical straightens with a comfort.
The difference in straighteners ratio to the treating ingredients in the product is what determines the quality and the level of straightening, but all of them have the same method of application on the hair, where all of them need high temperature.
Regardless of the brand name, there are four things you need to check:
Formaldehyde percentage
Product quality and manufacturing
How to apply it to hair
The method of care after applying it
The difference according to the best brands we have experienced
Collagen: Suitable for all types of hair, for normal hair, dull, damaged, fluffy hair, it gives a natural and vibrant smoothness and brilliant shine, not suitable for those who wish to straighten their hair.
Protein, keratin, and caviar: Suitable for corrugated and coarse hair to give a stronger smoothing and moderate to the strong straightening. We recommend formaldehyde-free or low-formaldehyde types.
Botox: for natural looking straightening which maintains the hair waves and to give it a brilliant shine.
Safe types of pregnant and breastfeeding women are available from all brands and are free of formaldehyde. However, we don`t recommend it during the first three months of pregnancy, even with safe species, neither for kids under 11 years old due to future hair long-term hair damages.
Note: The description may not apply to what is presented to you under the same labels, so do not be surprised if you perform a collagen session and the result was a flat hair, you have no guarantees , but your knowledge, the quality of the place you'll do your session in and the experience of your stylist.
